I've been using mostly power pro but heard horror stories of breaks in the middle of the spools and guys losing trophies. Use Tuf-line also, and for the price really works well. Smaller diameter=long casts.

Haven't tried Suffix 832(too expensive).

Heard spider wire stealth was good stuff.

What do you guys use?

The best is Jerry Brown. Or Diamond Braid. But the "best" really depends on the style of fishing.
For instance those two lines are not the best for casting. But for live bait and speed jigging they are far superior than most anything.
Tuff line is great for bait fishing in a boat. Suffix 832 is best for that constant casting and retrieving. Light lines like Nanofil are really good for casting too. So you need to decide on a pound test and then consider the reel. Some reels will buger up braid quickly. While others are more forgiving.

I use about 6 different types of braided 50 lb on my catfish rigs. Surf rigs use 832 or mono.

CYT,

Western MD trout trip will be next month. I always use Trilene XL(clear) in 2,4,6, or 8 lb test for trout!

Sandcrab

PS - I used to use BBG 30# mono for my 9' California "Jig" rod (Penn Sabre - no reel seat, ABU 10000Cl conventional reel) for "barries"and tuna...
