Hi all,

I don't get to fish often enough to use up a pack of Gulp shrimp quickly. I tend to find a pack of somewhat to totally dried-up (shrunk) Gulp. I recently bought a larger container of Gulp (20 baits in a good amount of liquid).

1. Can I dump my other Gulp in there to restore them? Maybe the somewhat dried-out baits?
2. If I fish a Gulp shrimp for awhile, is it worth dumping back in the container or is something lost by spending a lot of time in the water?

Also, concerning fishbites. I bought them for the first time last summer (with no luck whatsoever). If I recall, they feel kind of dry anyway when you buy them. I can't really tell if they are in good condition at this point 9 months later. Are they good to go? Can THEY be stored in Gulp liquid? (I might just try dumping a whole strip or two in there....

Thanks, folks.

Once the Gulps are dried out, there is no bringing them back from the dead.....just chunk them in the garbage. If you take it off the hook at the end of the day and it is still in good shape, then by all means, put it back in the Gulp bucket. Always store your Gulp bucket in an upright position.....they leak if you look at them funny. Fishbites are meant to be dry. Do not store them in Gulp juice.

I wrote to gulp once about mixing different gulp baits in the juice and the answer came back dont mix the colors other than that you are ok to mix different gulp baits in the gulp juice.

Don't put the fishbites in the gulp juice, they will disintegrate.

Gulp is no good after it dries up. Fishbites are good after several years opened or unopened. With gulp you could always put it back in the juice as long as it isn't dry. Sometimes fishbites will not be as effective after a certain time but will still catch fish.

I've got 5 different Gulp baits in the same bucket and the colors never bleed into each other.
Wrap your FB very tightly in the original package, and then wrap it tightly in a ziplock, getting as much air out of both as possible, and they should last for a couple of years.
They should not be dry when you buy them, they should be pliable, and soft, sort of like stiff bread dough on the outside.

I bought a tub of Gulp Alive, transferred it to a Rubbermaid container and dumped all my Gulps in there...white, chartreuse, whatever and they are fine.

About a month ago I called Fishbites about the product drying out and was told they do have a shelf life. I had to take a hammer and nail to last year's Fishbites that I had cut up into pieces. Just needed a starter hole to hook them. The old Fishbites work fine but I would just purchase what you can use and not extra so they stay pliable.

Fishbites are great - don't give up on them! I've had the most luck with Bloodworm and EZ Shrimp in Orange. The EZ Shrimp seems to be more effective than the pre-cut Fish'n Strips, at least in my experience. They are still good as long as you can get them on the hook. If they are to hard to get the hook through, probably time for a new pack, although I suppose you could pre-soak a piece to soften it up. Messy, but could work in a pinch. The scent and flavor chemicals should still be in there.

I've stored my fishbites in airtight plastic container in the freezer , It seems to work well , The Manufacturer's Rep. recommend that to me at a Trade Show , he also said he'd rather see me buy more of his product, good Sales Rep.
