Looking at some pics of the 20 and 30 model, some look like wide spool and others narrow. Wondering which 20 & 30 models are the wide spool? Some one fill me in.

I am not sure about the 20, but there is 2 models on the 30. One model is 30H AND A 30 ht. The 30 H is the wider reel and the 30 HT is the narrower reel. I have the 30 H and love it.

The way I understand it the TH is more of a boat reel and the H is more caster friendly.I have both the 30 and 20H.

H- high speed
T- Tall spool(narrow frame)
HT-high speed, tall spool)

The 30HT is much taller with the narrow spool. It would be pretty hard to get a good grip with your thumb for a hard cast. I have the 30HT, but only use it for my offshore jigging rod. For casting I would definitely go for the 30H.

I have a 20h and saw a 30h over the weekend. The 30 was much wider. Maybe a third wider than the 20h. If you have small hands that could be the difference

I have the 30ht and love the reels power and feel when jigging off shore. Dont know if i would want to use a saltist as a caster though. I bit on the heavy side.

ive been told that the 30h is for casting and the ht is for boat fishing. i have a 30h and it is a great reel
