I went over to JEB little creek today in the morning and seen dolphins about 100 yards from thw shore line. I could see clearly where the drop off was and they were a bit away from there. Are dolphins near the shore necessarily mean theres fish out in the water theyre feeding on or just coincidental? Also another question, what are signs that fish are present on a calm day like today with placid water? I think i seen some bait fish but it could have been the waves hitting themselves.

I cant wait to get this season started.

Dolphins come close to shore to feed on available bait fish. If not enough fish close to shore they venture further out to sea to eat or enter river channels to look for food.

Thanks marv! Im glad you gave me some answers. I decided to go back today with to try my luck but didnt catch a thing. I walked about 40-50 yards out on a sand bar and cast out a rig with some squid. It was a beautiful day to fish so it was wprth getting out dor a few hours. I think the staying in made me wanna go out and try my luck.

I think in about a month it will be prime to caych some fish.

I fished in March before and the water is still too cold. More or less end of march to april is your best bet.
