Potomac shad are here

I went kayak fishing on the potomac this afternoon planning to fish for crappie but was too curious about wether the shad were in or not. So after 30 minutes of paddling against the wind I made it to my favorite shad area and immeadiatly started fighting with the wind that was ripping down the river. After two casts of that I went and found a big flat rock then started fishing from that with two 1/16 oz jig heads that had a pink trout magnet body on the top, and on the bottom a green one.
Two hours yeilded three shad. Then I changed the bottom jig body from green to pink like the top one and caught 15 shad in the last two and a half hours I was there. So they're not here in full numbers but there's more than enough to keep entertained. Also everyone fishing were catching shad, even the guy using a fly rod in 25 mph wind .
