Are you sure that they are from this site? I have never had a problem with pop-ups from Pier and Surf. Are you reffering to pop-up ads or windows that say that you have a private message?

I am not getting any? Thats weird you might have been infected with a virus and everytime you visit a new page they pop up with all kind of crap. Run you norton antivirus and see what happens. If not you might have to sign up for a popup blocker or go out and buy one. Hope this helps.

This site loads faster and runs "cleaner" than any other site that I visit. (Sorry Mo, it's true.)

I seem to get way too many newcastle beer opinion surveys from here I think. Hell, give me a Bud light or Natural Light supply, and I might be willing to take the damn thing instead of closing the window. A years supply would be nice, but I'd settle for six months (I'll just double what my real monthly consumption is, and I'll get me years supply). BTW, no purchase neccessary.

guys who get pop-ups might want to run ad-aware or something similar to get rid of any spyware that might be ontheir computers. I never get any and my pop-sup stopper never indicates stopping any from this site. Sometimes if you have spyware on your computer it makes pop-ups appear everywhere

Okay, and for a digitally impaired computer idiot, how do I find out if I have spyware, and if I do, how do I get rid of it?

Have Jeep (know how to do that) will travel (know how to do that too). :D

Forget the Spyware..

Get youself a copy of Norton Personal Firewall software and turn on the "blocker" and you will NEVER SEE A POP UP AGAIN.

Spyware programs are almost impossible to remove once they have imbedded themself into your computer!

Get a copy of ad-aware, it's a privacy tool, that scans your memory, registry, hard, removable and optical drives for known data-mining, aggressive advertising, and tracking components. It then lists the results and offers to remove or quarantine the components. The program detects a wide range of adware/spyware related issues and can be updated with the latest signatures via the built-in update utility. Please be advised that removing certain components may impact the functionality of effected software applications. You should fully read the included Ad-aware documentation before removing any files!

and then the best part. It's Free!

Yup. Run Ad Aware and install Zone Alarm firewall and Google's pop-up blocker. All are free.

I serve no pop-up ads on this site. Sorry, but you've got spyware/adware on your machine. That's what you get for clicking "Accept" when you visit porn sites :jawdrop:

Plus when you download something from a site sometimes it has hidden files in there that get downloaded and cause problems like this. It is always a safe bet to scan with norton before downloading anything.

i know some programs like kazaa have spyware built in. if you have kazaa, get rid of it and get kazaalite because kazaalite does not have any of the pop-ups or traking utilities.

It is a free program and will get rid of your popup problem better than any I have seen. I had 37 popups at one time and have none now. Incredible Program and like I said FREE! woo hoo.

Norton Internet Security

The only way to go---never had a pop-up and never will

Had a serious problem with pop-ups on the job terminal. I guess from so many different people using it. Had the administrator install Norton and everything stopped. It will even allow you to trace pop-ups and any attempted attacks on your terminal.

I had a problem when my kids downloaded screen savers from one of those virtual pet sites, removing them( the screen savers!) and cleaning the cookies got rid of them.

For what it's worth, I left Kazaa, and went to Bear Share. I can d/l with my firewall up, and can shield my i.p. as well...... Tons of music, and although it's a bit different as formats go, its my favorite site for sounds. And yes, although there IS a PRO version that is $2.99 a month, this version is free. I really like it.Bear Share Home page
The 4.3.2 version is the free one; look on the left hand side, directly under the d/l for the pro version. I've been using this for a while now, 9 or 10 months, and have never had a problem.
