I know many of these diehard locals who comb the beaches looking for the right conditions to land these tasty critters .
I have seen the locals out so far but I am missing a few that didn't make it back to the Sunshine State from there summer homes up north for there winter Pompano Meal . Hope you guys are OK up north . Hope to see old friends soon .

Here's the link to a good article on the Pompano Push

Kozlow,

I'll be on Cocoa Beach for Xmas week. I fish the surf. What can I expect to find there? And what bait(s) should I use?

Many thanks for any help you can provide.

Maybe some Pomps, Whiting, Black Drum and Sheepshead. Best bait last winter for me was Shrimp for the Black Drum and Whiting, Clams and SandFleas for the Pomps and Sheepshead. Don't count out the Bluefish that will hit most anything at that time.:D
