Went to solomon's on saturday night it's still opened and was crowded as usual, saw a few boards lying around but overall it didn't look like it took a lot of damage at all. After checking its condition we kept going across the bridge and onto the PAX naval base to fish there. The base got it pretty bad if you're familiar with the fishing spots there the pier was destroyed and half the walking bridge at hog's point was gone. The fishing at PAX was still good though lot's of blues and stripers.
Yeah kind of figured smack. The crossover bridge there at hog point was battered after the last Northeastern wind we had. I am actually surprised there is still a piece there. Glad to hear you got into some fish. The fishing off of the main pier has slowly been getting worse the last few years. Hopefully all the wind blew some of the sandbar down that was growing out there. They should rebuild it but don't know how fast it will happen.
I just got off the phone with PLO state park. The park will be closed until they find out how much work they have to do and how long it will take.
The pier is fine, the causway is still there but all the big rip rap rocks have been washed onto it and need to be put back inplace. They have allot of trees down that need to be cleared.
They said to call back in a week or two and they would have a better idea of when they would open back up. All and all it could have been worse, at least they will open back up for the fall runs....Tightlines
