Hi, we (my wife and I)normally fish the AC jetties to Longport to Somers Point. Last year's catch was very disappointing. Going fishing was mostly pointless. This year we took extended weekend trips to the Point Lookout pier in MD. we caught nice 9-11 inch Kingfish. The nice enjoyable trip included the Solomon Island pier with catches of short 16" stripers and crabs, crabs, crabs. The next week we hit VA. Beach at Rudee Inlet for another great day of croaker, spot and blues fishing well into the night. The MD.legal 16" flounder was released...to small for us N.J. folks. Next we hit Ocean City MD. two weeks ago, along the Rt. 50 bridge for larger 9-11 inch croaker and a few flounder throw backs. Something big broke me off (12lb. test) twice.. All very clean locations very friendly peoples.

Finally back in AC Saturday at the T-jetties (what a mess!!) hopefully the core of engineers will have the place looking good in a few years. They say a 15 foot sea wall will protect the town from flooding (also will block access to the jetties...boooooo!). Let's hope investors with vision and deep pockets don't price us out. 40 years ago the place was golden.

Anyway,we caught a long run of 8-13 inch blues out at the end of the T. If this is the end of our summer fishing we hope the fall is even better.

We caught and gave away over 100 fish. I'll say WE but my dearest and best... out fished me 7 to 1 while talking trash all the while.

Not bad for a summer of nice fishing.

P.S. guys....never teach your wife how to fish...the girls gon wild.:)

Great post! I went down to the Jetties at the Absecon Inlet quite a few times and either lost Riggs or just caught a lot of seaweed. Still had fun but like the pointed Longport much better. I tried to get my wife to go but maybe i will stop asking !
