Fished PLO Saturday afternoon til about midnight. Nothing in the afternoon. Not sure of the time, but after it was dark, guy next to me catches a decent bluefish...so I think, whew...there's still some fish here. Sometime thereafter, I got a hit on one of my rods, and I figure it was a blue, but then It was pulling kinda decent, not so herky jerky like a bluefish. I decided to let my son get in on the action, I let him reel it in toward the pier (I had a hand on the rod still, just in case It pulled too hard for him). As it got closer, I noticed it was a decent size fish. As I got the rod from my son, someone said take it to the ladder. I'm thinking, I'm not heading down no ladder...lol. I took the chance and hand-line it to the pier with my friend BG. As we're doing that, my other rod has a hit, my son goes over to get it. We pull the first fish up and it was a nice 29" rockfish. Meanwhile, my son yells, I may need help over here...lol. We helped him get another rockfish 19" over the rail (which we released). My friend BG was catching some small black drum...biggest was about 13-14". Nothing much else, but my son was happy
.
