I am going fish somewhere near where I-40 east ends in wilmington...where, depends on what I hear from everyone. I have made 2 day trips from Raleigh and have been skunked both times. I am taking some friends along and I want to show them a good time and get them involved in surf fishing. So here's my request..where should I go in that area? I have had no luck at southern WB near the jettys, then again that was 2months ago so things might have changed. Should I go down to Carolina or Kure beach? or north to Topsail or should I stay at Wrightsville. Please...anything that could possibly stear me would be greatly appreciated. I just want to catch some fish, not skates

Not sure about surf fishing in that area but you should get some live shrimp and check out the piers. (Ocean crest pier) on oak island is getting alot of big speckled trout floating shrimp from the pier.

FORT FISHER produced alot of pan sized croaker last thurs. They would bite as soon as my squid or shrimp hit the h2o
