Is the pier open for fishing at The Navy Pier Cheatom Annex, Va.and if so what are anglers catching?

Pennsalt...last time I checked (and this was probably about Oct last year), the pier was only open on the weekends, from 4 p.m. on Fridays until 6 a.m. on Monday morning due to maintenance on the pier. Put a big dent in any kind of striper fishing I wanted to do. I haven't checked recently, but if you call their Outdoor Rec at (757) 887-7418, they can probably update you. Also, if you didn't know, you have to have a military ID card of some sort to get on the base and a pier pass to fish out there, which you buy on the base from Outdoor Rec for $20. I've caught just about everything out there, although this time of year, I'm not sure. May still catch a striper, but you can't keep those now. Probably too early for flounder. Maybe a spec or grey trout. I don't usually start going out there until Apr/May. If you do call, please let me know what they say! Good luck!
