I putting together some tackle for pier fishing next season. Reels are taken care of. For a rod i have a Penn Power stik PC3811,7' Med 15 to 40 # mono, 3/4 to 3 oz lure es. would this be a good pier rod or should i go heavier. Thank's in advance.
Well what are you fishing for on the piers? What is your targeted species?......
I don't think a spot, mullet trout or flounder will break it.... It's a pretty heavy duty rod for pier fishing unless your are using it for a fighting rod in pin rigging set up.
Mostly fishing the CHSP pier in Delaware. Fish u mentioned , stipers, and Blues . Some times they get hit by small sharks there. But your right ,It will handle what is there. Thank's 2na.
