Anybody have/use one of these reels?

Picked up one at a local thrift store in the original box; wth the wrench and tube of grease and a Penn catalog # 36B.

Thinking of getting the aluminum spool for it.

That's a nice "Old School" reel - I learned to cast conventional reels on it's brother, the 109. The 9MS has the advantage over the 109 as the handle disengages on free spool, where the 109 is a direct drive, and the handle spins with the cast...

Should be great for sabiki and bottom fishing!

I have a Penn 9M i bought back in the 1970's. still use it sometimes. I use 12# to 15# mono on her. Great back bay reel.

Hopefully in a few a days am going clean it up and re-oil and re-grease it.
