Fished from shore from 9:30pm until 2am. Used top and bottom rigs with last years frozen squid. Also had some lines out with cut bait for rockfish....nothing there though. Did Have a pretty good bite from the croaker. Caught over 20 between 9 and 12 inches. Nothing bigger though. Bite picked up after midnight, with a bite on every cast. Although they were active, most fish nibbled instead of just chomping and hooking themselves.

I use to think it was odd that MD had a 10 fish limit.
Changed my thinking a bit since I haven't caught a total of 10 combined in the past few years of fishing in VA.
Looks like this is going to be a great year...based on reports so far. Good thing if they are finally rebounding from that kill off of years back. Maybe that's why the bluefish are so numerous and fat this early in the season.

10 bluefish per day
