Me and my mother were out at first light at Inlet Beach. First impression - shoulda brought a surfboard. Nothing but ladyfish and catfish until about 10:30.
Thought I had another ladyfish on and let a little fella reel it in. Turned out to be a 16" Pompano.
I told his folks I'd post his pic so look for it (post: "Evan's Fish"). Later got another 10 incher along with more ladyfish, catfish, and a stingray.
About an hour before packing it in, this 91-year old man (looked to be in his late 70's) comes along and asks if its OK to fish by us. He'd been up the beach a ways and "hadn't had a bite all morning". His hook no sooner hit the water before his rod doubles over - 27" redfish.
This old codjer had some good fishin stories to tell. A pretty good day even if a little slow.
