Any one fishing the beaches around Panama city? Anything in the surf at the end of October?

Hey I'm there now and open to suggestions. They're catching spanish on the piers, and twice saw big tarpon busting surface too far out. Would like to go for reds and trout around the bays.

You can fish the college side of the Hathaway bridge for redfish and trout. Gold spoons and DOA shrimp under a popping cork is what I've used mostly there with success.

You can also take a drive over to Deer Point dam. The trout get thick around the spillway and the reds are right t the mouth of the gate. There are also some huge black drum caught there on crabs.

Been 9 months but thanks Xi and Jollymon. I found the jetty to be excellent way out at the end. Anyone going out needs to travel light and wear your best dancing shoes! The rocks aren't real slick but they were not made for walking. Red hot action there for blues and small kings in November. Since then I have moved to Crystal River area permanently and awaiting delivery of skiff. Had a 6ft tarpon spit the bait at the 2 second mark; keeps me going back.
