Wow...my post didn't take for some reason! Anyway, if you already have the combo, then use it and enjoy. I'm not really familiar with the rod. The longest Penn Powerstick Surf made for the US Market is 12 ft., and is rated for 20-40 lb. line. A bit much for the slosh 20. If you don't have the rod yet, then I'd look elsewhere. You do, however, have a good reel. If you aren't fishing for "biggies" and/or sharks, then you should be OK. There are a lot of variables, and if you aren't fishing a crowded pier, you should be OK. If you don't have the rod already, I'd look at something with an "accurate" line rating of 12-17 lb or in that neighborhood. Wish I was more familiar with the "food fish" in Singapore, but that's what you should be fishing for in that area with that reel. I'm sure others will chime in.
