Just drove past new construction on Independence & Va. Beach Blvd near Circuit City & Best Buy. They are building a new Outdoor Sporting Goods & Adventure Store called Gaylans. I understand the store is similar to Cabelas & Bass Pro Shops. Set to open spring of 2004.

I'd say it's better than Dick's (no snide remarks - I'm talking bout the sporting goods store) but not in the same league as a BPS. I've been to the one in Fairfax and it's got a decent size fishing department. Hopefully these guys will cater more towads the salt water.
It's an great store if you like to spend hours in a sporting store.
