Wondering if anyone knows of any structures. been told there is an old pier debris out there but haven't found it and I fished it a lot last summer both from beach and from kayak. Any input would be appreciated thanks.

There was a pier at the old Recon area, it was destroyed from high surf. Don't know what they use that area for now, maybe ask someone who has been there for sometime. I remember you left the main base going out the back way towards rt. 172, and I think you went straight instead of turning onto rt. 172. The pier was on base but not run by the military, but only military and their guests were allowed on the pier. That was in the early to mid 90's. Hope you find it, let us know what you catch, good luck Marine.

The pier remains are right at the beach access point, the first picture is from the last google earth picture that showed the pier.

There is decent beach structure down past the south tower, but that area is closed to driving. Water Water resources Aerial photography Infrastructure Map

there is also a spot off the beach that i have fished from my kayak that draws some bottom fish, sharks, kings, Spanish, etc..

I think ill have to learn how to use google earth better. I fish the point on the Lejeune side all the time when permitted to drive down there and it usually pays of pretty well even if the surf is pretty bad it still pays most days. pulled just about everything out of that section right before it hooks into the inlet completely
