Headed down to Ocean City this weekend with a group of lifelong friends to celebrate all of our 40th birthdays. Don't expect fishing to dominate the trip, but we would all like to drop a couple lines somewhere. Is anything running in the surf, we would even take skate or dogfish. What about the OC inlet. I'm the only hard-core fisherman of the group and I'm really a freshwater guy so we are not looking to steal anybody's honey hole. Is there anything to be had from the pier that can be accessed from the middle of the route 90 bridge? The weather is looking a little cooler for this weekend, so my hopes of been a bit dampened but any help or information anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. And if you ever get down towards the mountains in Tennessee, I will happily repay the favor.

Don't waste your time with the RT. 90 tiny pier.

OC Oceanic Pier. It's like $7 a head and free parking at the motel. They sell bait there also. Try live minnows for flounder on a high/lo or fishfinder rig.

Bob Foster's current Oyster Bay report - Tog fishing picked up last week with keepers coming from the 2nd-4th street bulkhead,the Route 50 bridge and around the riprap at Homer Gudelsky Park. :fishing:

Thanks again. Got a couple blues at the inlet, and had two tog get off. Oceanic pier was very crowded, but I can see the potential. Watched a group come in and basically muscle a couple of old folks off the end. Just walked in between these old-timers and started casting, crossing line after line after line until the old guys just gave up. My buddies and I made plenty of comments, and made it well known that we didn't think such behavior was acceptable. Strangely, the group that muscled out the old guys paid us no attention. It's as though they didn't speak English. Hmmmmm. Nevertheless, thanks for the tips and I hope everyone that fishes out there regularly has a wonderful season.
