How is the fishing over Thanksgiving? Would be in Frisco but can drive +-20 mins. I know all the warm water stuff will be gone but what about whiting/mullet, trout, and pups from the surf?

you don't have to drive that far from Cola. to catch those named at Thanksgiving. I'd say about 3 hr. 31 min E. N.E of where you are located

You can catch all the flounder you want but you can't keep it. NC Closed rec flounder fishing for 10 weeks starting Oct 16 to Jan 1 2017........

That said. If the weather is good the surf can be very productive.

In the three years I lived in Duck I recall a lot of guys out around Thanksgiving with light tackle in the surf targeting specks, something I did in the spring mostly. There were plenty of locals fishing for them.
