went to O.C. sunday, Fished at surf for five hours, no bites except crabs. bait would not last ten minutes. started fishing at the inlet from 3am-5am, caught 4 blues. (10"-13") sleeped in the inn, rented a boat, and fished for 4 hours, nothing. went back to the inlet monday night and caught over 30 blues ranging from 10"-19". 2 striper 23" and 15" (had to release because OC minimum is 28") :( all the fish was caught by lure (gotcha, hopkins, and rapala magnum) it was one of busiest fishing i ever done. i averaged a fish every 5-6 minutes. (once caught fish in 4 consective casts)

I had similar experience in OC this past weekend.

Saturday, 10 am at the inlet caught a bunch of blues about 16-18 inches from the inlet on gotcha plugs. It died around noon, and didn't see anyone hook another fish through 4 pm.

Went down to Shantytown pier to see what was happening.....one guy caught a ray, and that was it....so I took a break. I didn't wan to pay $5 to fish if nothing was biting.

Went back to the inlet around 9 pm. Saw a couple small tog, but pretty dead. Came back to fish around midnight, caught a few small 11-12 inch snapper and saw one 10 inch stripers.
