Fished Aqualand Marina rocks (nearest 301 Bridge) from shore yesterday 4pm-830pm (high tide was 830pm) and caught one gorgeous blue cat on the first cast (about 20" and very healthy - released him to get bigger). Then got one white perch on a lure. Had a mega-hit on shrimp (or squid - used both on hi-lo spot rigs) but hook didn't set. Nothing else over rest of day. Really thought the croakers woulda been higher in the river by now..

Oh, did see something very large and brown about 1/5 (2nd or 3rd bridge piling) across the river. It did an arced dive like a dolphin would. Looked like maybe half or 1/3 the size of a dolphin. No clue what that was..definitely too streamlined to be a carp or any type of shad..

Slogg9 it very well could've been a dolphin; maybe a pup. Mepps3 I think you're right. We've had a pretty wet spring and the salinity in the rivers and mid to upper bay is up. Historically our best croaker fishing has followed a dry winter and spring.
