Just returned from a week of fishing on the outer banks. All in all it was not such a good week. I spent alot of time fly fishing in the sound but the rain and cool water has really delayed the fishing. Lots of nice, pretty but fishless days. Fished Green Island slough some nights and days...nothing. Saw alot of lizardfish there during the night, they will swim right between your legs, apparently they don't spook real easy. New inlet, Bodie Light, Propeller slough, and behind the Coast Guard station all blanked me. At night and at first light.

Apparently Manns Harbor has been hot for schoolies. Lots of fish there on the downtide. Of course that's the one place I did not fish.

I did however catch a few stripers at the Corps of Engineers peir around the pilings using a chartruese bass assassin and bubble gum ice finn-s jig. No keepers, but certainly took the stink off my rod. Alot of nice steep beach there to the north, deep holes just off osprey.
