Just got back today, fishing was great, tons of whiting and croaker. Biggest whiting was 3ish lbs others were pan frying size. All on sand fleas. Frozen ones worked. The live ones I found were a tad small but I caught the biggest off a live small flea.

Thanks for the report. I'm heading down there next week.

Was the beach re-nourished this year?

I'll be a little south of Cherry Grove pier. Last year there was a slough/ditch that ran diagonal from the waterline up the beach. It made nice tidepools on the outgoing for the kids to play in. If they haven't flattened it out, I'm going to try to find that or something similar close by. Hoping to find some sand fleas for bait.

We were at maritime beach club. It's about 3 miles south of the pier. There were some tide pools and plenty of sand fleas. I bought some frozen ones the first day and they did great. Didn't have any luck with the blues this year. I was casting just past the breakers and tipping the hooks with the sand flea fish bites
