Anyone surf fished this rod yet? I just picked one up and plan to put a Blue Yonder Abu on it, I have a new spool of 30lb Power pro in the garage...Thinking I can spike this think with the River rig with circle hooks .... hopefully it’s a Pompano catcher! I just wished it didn’t say catfish on it...might stick a Pompano decal over the catfish. Anyway has anyone fished these rods?

By the ways its the reflective orange rod with black wraps and all stainless guides not the old white ones.

I tried a 9 ft zebco XT Big Cat Extra heavy last time on OBX..........wife pulled in a 6 1/2 foot hammerhead shark on it. When conditions were rough and that was virtually every day for 3 damn weeks I used it. Threw 5 oz great............I will have to look one like yours up. Whats weight range on it> The XT claimed 2-8 oz and I think that is a fair estimate.

10’ medium heavy , 10-40 line, 1-4oz. It’s the burnt orange rod .

think I saw this rod at Bass Pro….it’s really flexible and has a short handle.

Yes flexible but not a short butt/handle in my opinion at or around 16” . It was purchased at Bass Pro.
