I made a trip to Bass Pro Shops this morning and saw a new type of sinker. The guy stocking the shelves said they are really popular in Hatteras.
looks someting like this, except it is round. http://www.matagordabay.com/sinker.jpg

You manually bend the copper "extensions" so they grip the sand.
Have any of you fished this type of sinker?
I think my fireline would get tangled in it, that's the reason why I can't use "sputnik" types with fireline.

I have some of those;when the wind was howling at Matapeake I used them type of sinkers in a 8oz size.A little heavy, but they hold the bottom very well.I use fireline too and they don't get tangeled up too much as long you use the right amount of lead.I normally use that type if it's too rough.Normally I use Pryrimids, storms,or banks depending on how far I want to get out, winds and currents.
