What's up guys! My names Dave and I'm new to fishing, been fishing for about a year now.
I like to fish the surf and piers relatively close to my house: Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Ventura.
What bait works for best for this time of the year?? Been using some frozen squid and the raw shrimp from Albertsons.
But I see some guys using these tiny live shrimps, sand fleas and even fresh mussels (HOW DO THEY GET THEM?? SWIM UNDER THE PIER??)

Oh, and also, what type of rig (hooks and weights) should i be using? I have the Surf/Pier fishing set from from Walmart. Yes, I'm on a budget haha
Thanks my fellow fishermen/fisherwomen,

Dave the newb
