Hi I am new to the forum, I've been surf fishing when on vacation in the gulf for about twenty years. Currently live in Chicago but moving to the Charleston area this spring as soon as we sell house. Would appreciate any and all advice on how things are different from the gulf side. If anybody wants to buy house in Chicago speak up we can't wait to be close to the ocean.

Nice to have you aboard, You'll find life in the south vastly different and superior to up north, Live, Learn and most of all don't say "That's not how we did it up North" .
As or the house, good luck , Ours is getting listed next week, Then its back to Ga.

Welcome. I learned to fish in VA and am still trying to find SC out. There isn't a whole lot going on here from what I've seen. Lots of puppy drum, speks, and flounder, but nothing that's going to bow my rod over. There are spade and sheepshead if you can get around some structure. Everything eats shrimp....including small shark. They are everywhere. Post if you find anything worth mentioning. I'm going to try to fish some reefs this weekend.

All caught within sight of the Fort Sumter and some very close to shore. Yes we cheated and were on a boat but the fish are there if you know where to look.

Med bull or big sandbar. about 200# and 7'. Didn't get it out of the water and had no desire to eat it so he got a free lip piercing and was on his way. Caught in Charleston harbor near Fort Moultrie (sp?)
