Instead of buying a new one (unless you REALLY want one) - just ship one of your own down to wherever you are staying. A much cheaper route and it's always better fishing with your own gear.
Yes, I have seen several of those, but never one that I would trust at the local pond. That’s why I put up the suggestion. Then again maybe it was cabala that had collapsible surf rods?
go to Dick's or bps and get a rod carrier and take your won. i always take my 2 piece rodswith me either to FLA or last sept. went to cancun with them. the airlines charge exta for the odd case but not that much. be careful though BWI internat. flight send the odd stuff down a different shoot and it doesn't come out with your luggage.get it before going to customs.
