All I have are 7 an 8 foot rods. Thinking of making the plunge for something more serious.
Is the cps 10ft 1to4 oz a good beginner in a spinner version..
And would it handle slot reds. Mostly try for flounder, whiting slot reds.
Like to try for pompino.

Got to agree with the above comments. They are great, I have two of the 10's also.

I was throwing metals with one and snagged a fairly decent sized skate. Was able to beach him (took some time with a Penn 710Z), and 2 others the same trip. It'll handle slot drum no problem.

My apologies for the delayed answer. I've been at cape hatteras on a working/fishing trip and just saw your post. You have received great advice here and to second what has been said, yes the CPS 10'1-4 makes a GREAT rod for your needs.

What size reel would pair with this, I was thinking along the new fierce live liner
