Hello Fellow Fishermen!

I"m going to visit a friend of my in Morehead City this weekend.
He's working a contract for 6 months down there and we were thinking about charting a Head boat to try and catch some bigger fish. Which one do you think is good and is it easy to catch bigger fish. I hear catching Red Snapper, Black Bass and Trigger is easy down there, but the bigger fish like Jacks and Groupers are alittle harder?

Also I hear the weather down there is alittle bad now?

THanks for your Help!

This is not from personal experience but from an article in North Carolina Sportsman. I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet but I want to. It is fairly easy to catch smaller snappers, triggers, black sea bass, porgy and occasional grouper and larger snappers from headboats with the provided tackle. However, for a chance at a larger grouper or snapper you need to use a three way swivel connected to the main line with a short drop to a sinker from one eye and a long leader (5') from the other. Tie on a large (8-10/0) hook and use the front two thirds of a Boston mackerel for bait, butterflied or not.
