I will be making a trip along the N.C. coast this July and need input on good piers to fish from. I hope to visit at least 3 piers within a 7 day stretch.Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Are you traveling somewhere new each day? or staging somewhere for a week and venturing out from there . You can easily stay on the outer banks and hit a different pier each day.

I gotta agree, july is not great for the piers. go north to hatteras, outer banks, closet piers to the gulf stream, coolest waters on carolinas coastline, and as a bonus, sharks in the surf. main thing is just go and have good time.

Over the past few years we've been fortunate enough to spend a long weekend on OBX in July. We go mostly to celebrate our anniversary but put in some time fishing. Last year we caught bluefish and a few trout at sunrise and sea mullet off and on during the day. We did have an unbelievably slow fishing trip several years ago when the air temps were in the 90's and the water was in the 50's.

Thanks for all the responses. I was going to stay at 2-3 different hotels during that week, but I would love to stay at a hotel that may place me near several fishing locations.
