In response to the original thread . The Cat Foid my wife buys for our cats , didn’t produce any minnows after a twenty four hour soak . So I threw a little bacon and Pita bread in The minnow trap I’ll check it tomorrow morning.

Try setting it at dead low tide with just enough water to cover the pot. Or make a mental note of such location. Along side a bulkhead, a cut in the marsh, next to a pile underneath the pier or floating dock if you have any of these, are good spots. Cat food isn't always the best, but the cheapest wet stuff has worked for me, attracts shrimp also. I stab holes in the can with a knife and put the can in the trap. Also if you leave a pot or trap for too long things will find a way out. Crushed crab and fish scraps do make the best bait, when you have them.
