I will be starting a new rod (Point Blank PB761MHXF) build. This will be my first build with microguides.

The setup will be all Fuji K-series casting guides starting with KW10-KW5-KB4(X3), KT4(X6 or 7) to a Fuji FC top. Besides static testing, are there any tricks to installing using these guides? I do not want to do a spiral wrap.

Thanks

The guide spacing will require both more guides and guides closer together than you're probably used to in order to keep the line off the blank. I've found that there really is no such thing as too many and have used as many as 13 micros to complete a build. For baitcasting I usually use a size 6 ring guide as a stripper, a single 5 ring as a transition, and then size 4 or 4.5 for the remaining guides based on line weights to be used. for spinning a size 16 Y frame, 8L, 6, 5, 4, 4, 4, ..... if my user is going to be mono only (heavy flipping 30+lb) I'll stick with size 4.5's, for braid: size 4's... for wrapping if you're used to taping the guide to the blank before wrapping, the smaller guide feet don't really allow for this, i find narrow pieces of surgical tubing (can easily be razor'd off after starting the wrap)best for holding guides on while beginning wrapping. good luck.

I use the thread of the wrap to hold the guide. Get the guide wrap started then lay the guide on the blank by putting the foot under the last thread wrapped. It should hold it enough to get another 4-5 wraps then you can adjust if needed.
