Does MD give citations??? If not how come? You would think with as much fishing that happens here they would.

Yes MD gives out citations. If you buy the Fishing in Maryland yearly periodical it lists all of MD citations at the end.

I noticed that all the sizes are in inches. Are there any weight requirements? In VA and DE they go by weight.

Maryland is a lot more generous in giving these things out than other states. For instance, a release citation on a red drum in Va. is 44". In Maryland? Any size. So you can get a citation for catching some pitiful little puppy.

And striper citations are only 28". I mean who hasn't caught a 28" striper?

They really need to tighten up the requirements if this is to mean anything.

DNR must have changed the regulations this year. According to the Fishing in Maryland book, Striped Bass citation is 10 lbs and a patch is 15 lbs. I think previous years, the Striper citation was 36".

Thanks for the link Joey. So guess I am going to have to get me a citation or two this year. Agree with you sandflea maybe that is why you never hear anybody talking about it. Can I get a citation in VA even though I live in Md???
