Hey all. I'm now to surf fishing and bought some commercially made rigs. Most of them have a looped knot at the end. What would be the best way to attach my mainline to these loops? Any suggestions?

I have braid as my mainline on my rods and most of the loops are fluoro or mono.

Get some Tactical Angler clips and tie one to the end of your braid (works equally well with mono mainline).

Get some barrel swivels and cut off the looped knots on the end of those rigs and replace with the swivels. The swivels will help you avoid having your rigs turn into tangled messes and hook very easily into your angler clip.
You can swap out rigs quickly without having to tie any knots.

If you’re tossing out weights 4oz or greater, you’ll need to tie a mono shock leader (10lb test for each ounce of weight) to your braid. Then tie your angler clip to the end of the leader.

I would suggest to always use a mono shock leader to your mainline braid. A shock leader offers multiple advantages; prevents parting your mainline during repetitive casting and/or for heavier payloads, adds abrasion resistance, and if the shock leader has 4 to 8 wraps around the spinner's spool it will be kinder to your trigger finger during casting rather than your finger on the not-so-friendly braid line. At the end of the shock leader, use a clip or clip&swivel to attach to your rig's loop end. Depending on the fish you'll be targeting, the weight of your rod'n'line, and the payload weights you'll be heaving, 30 to 80 pound mono will make a good shock leader. I make mine 30 feet long for rods 10-13ft in length. There are a number of good knots to use for braid to mono connections - FG, Alberto, NoName, Surgeon, etc - just make sure it's tied correctly and tested prior to use.
