so im going to mag a daiwa saltist 2 speed lever drag. id like some imput from some people would it work for a heaver? can it be done? i just think it looks cool and i have nothing to do im in school and bored stuck in Newkent. Any opinions anything at all greatly appreciated

It can be done. No an easy task and you can destroy the side cover very easy. I have a Daiwa Hyper Speed LD 30 thats magged. I really don't care for it but it's done. That's a really nice reel and once done it can't be undone without replacing the entire left side cover.

I had Ryan white mag a single speed LD one years back and to be honest I still can't control it very well. It just sits in a bag now. It tried it for a heaver thinking it would work ok but it didn't for me. I'm guessing it's why you don't see many on the beach.

the mag will work if done right. it needs to be a big magnet though. Ryan at HJ did mine also. it's just a FAST reel.

Yes it is. I traded an Abu 7000BY for mine from a kid that had it slam packed with what looked and smelled like axel grease. I cleaned it out regressed the gears and soaked the spool bearings in lighter fluid then added one drop of quantum hot sauce.. I almost feel like I need to use a thicker oil to make it usable.
