Wisconsin Saltwater rookie wants to catch fish from pier and beach during February and March. Guessing 7 to 8ft spinning with large capacity reel, 20LB test Big Game. Am I close? What kind of terminal tackle? Surf rigs? Any artificials? Plastics?
What kind of fish? How much effect from Tides, etc?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

thanks for the links.
The image of the fur bearing trout is great, although they aren't that rare up here. I have several in the freezer today. They all get to look like that after 9 to 10 months.
