Had a decent time at the inlet today. Fished 8am to 10pm on the duck-in side during the incoming tide using 4in gulps. Caught about 10 or so flounder, no keepers, mostly in the 10-14" range. Most of the ones I saw caught by others were just to small also.

July 4....am

From Rudee area to northern area of Oceanfront to Lynnhaven beach to Lesner.
Long day fishing....got soaked on and off from the rain....only 1 baby "stingray" and 4 crabs caught.
Had fun fishing all the pitstops in the cool air under the overcast sky.
(fish must have slept in and missed the weather forecast)

I gotta say, that overcast weather really made it nice out there. Usually I would've been sweating and drinking a lot of water, but not on Monday. Plus the rain kept a lot of swimmers away when I was surf fishing.

I have done nearly the exact same at that inlet...before getting kicked out from underneath the bridge. I use the gulps and cast wherever the pilings break the current- lots of flounder, but only 1 keeper out of the 2 dozen+ I have landed there over a period of a week. I think it is still a viable area to fish with a boat/kayak, but without access to wading the bridge....I'm out.
