Is that a GOOD thing or a BAD thing ???
Not to imply or assign guilt but this article seems to suggest a reason...

The audit revealed commission members appeared to have violated open meeting laws with four separate email chains.
“We did not review the director’s emails to determine that Director Daniel sent emails to only certain members of the Commission,” the audit stated. “However, there does appear to be emails between commission members that violate open meeting laws.”
According to the audit, Daniel was copied on some of the emails, but the auditor’s office did not “observed any emails which were sent by the Director.”

If you read the article about the audit and then read the audit, you will see that there is no reason to step down because of the emails. It was emails that were sent by the commission members to the commission members and not involving the director. The director may have been aware but the staff attorney acted and stopped the illegal email "meetings."
There is way more to this than we understand.
I hope they put someone in charge who is interested in the fish's best interest and not corporate commercial fishermen nor self-centered recreational interests. Heck follow SC policies on fish management seems to work and be fair to everyone down there.

Afraid of people with different opinions? Yeah I fish but I think being responsible is the best interest. Someone like that scare you? Guess What!!! I fish and don't keep a damn thing. Catch and release. Yep that right.

His comment is typical of today's Liberal Progressive . . . I won't go more into "Politics", here, other than to state my own position briefly.
I am an Ultra-Conservative, "Bible-Thumping" Southern Baptist and, suffice it to say, I am not "PC" or "Tolerant", at all . . . I like to say that "I'm so far to the right, the only thing next to me is the wall" !
BTW - I hunt, I fish, & I kill animals and fish, to consume their flesh, as does my entire family and all of my friends . . . For me, "PETA" only means "People Eating Tasty Animals" !
Tomorrow is Primary Election Day, here in NC, and you can be sure we are all voting in it and the General Election, in November !
