Guys I figure you two should have a handle on this question if anyone does!
Have you tried a comparison test of Tuf Line XP vs Power Pro in the same relative size ?
I am interested in distance casting between these two lines, but "not" at the cost of the fish-ability/forgiving nature of one over the other.

Hi "changeling",
I have never used Tuf Line XP so I can't give you a valid comparison. Gary Born, who is a Tournament Caster as well as a Tournament Fisherman uses Power Pro religiously, and I know he does quite well. My vote is for Power Pro!

I have always liked the tuf line , the original saltnpepper line has lastest longer than any other line I have ever used.It has been on some reels about 7 years . The power pro will cast a little further on a spinning reel because of reduced friction but no further on a conventional .In use the actual distance difference is under 5 yards .
Choose the line for other properties instead of distance , the tuf has better abrasion resistance and is easier to tie knots that don't slip. :)

Thanks guys, I appreciate the reply. I intend to try it on a spinning reel first to see how it handles. The one thing I like about the Tuff Line XP is it's smaller diameter than PP. Now I know it is rugged as well, per Connmans experience. Last but not least it's cheaper, at least it was until started buying it, know what I mean!

Ardmore Bill, it's a braid.
