Took the Little People (4 GrandKids, 4, 5, 6, & 8) to the Lynnhaven Fishing Pier on Sunday. I was told by "Nana" and parents alike that I would be lucky to keep their attention for more than 45 minutes.

A few little pigfish and a small black bass kept them all busy - parents too, baiting hooks!

The grins were wider than the fish were long, but each one of those smiles was a keeper!

Two hours later, we only left because the Big People whining got too loud and the GKids couldn't take it any more. "I'm hungry. I'm tired. Let's go get lunch. I need to get out of the sun." The kids all wanted to stay, but gave in to the parents.

A nice lunch at Duck Inn and some time on the beach and in the water and a great day was had by everyone over 50 and under 10.

Man, those are great pictures. You can see the moment in their eyes when they realize that they are now anglers and will spend the rest of their lives finding a way to wet a line...

Hope to be taking my 2 1/2 year old son out this weekend to catch his first fish!

Pictures were encouraging, I just hope he can make it till we catch a "Nemo" and release it!

Next thing you need to teach the young ones about is 1) Suckerpunching anyone who deliberately throws their trash in the drink and 2) teach them the DNR Hotline number. Make sure they know it in their sleep.:D

Big Smiles

Hey HawgHvnVa,
As they say pictures are worth a thousand words and your pictures say it all. Great looking bunch . Keep 'em fishing and you'll have plenty of excuses to go . Started mine when they were that little (15 & 19 now) and they still want to go along when I go. Can't ask for better company.
