i would not believe it if i had not seen it.. today feb 3. a 5 1/2 pound sheephead was caught ,,,,and weighed in at island bait/tackle h2o is around 54? anybody ever heard of sheeps being around in cold water btw.. it was not hooked on the poles; the cast was out from the pier when the fish struck, he had no net dragged it to the beach.. while i was there i saw a small trout, lots of puffers, a black drum and a small blue...

I have seen sheepshead caught at the fort Macon rock jetty in droves at the end of November a number of years ago. Seems they were stacked up. Don't remember what the water temperature was at that time.
