I was doing some research and wondered if any of the forecasters out there or anyone for that matter Used the "fg knot" it's super thin and supposed to be strong but I wasn't sure so I figured I'd ask some of the folks here.

I haven't used this knot before. Just watched a video tutorial on it. It looked good. I liked how streamlined it was. It looks to be a very small knot and very strong. I usually use a double uni knot for tying braid to leader. But I'm thinking about trying this knot. Seems like it would be easier to cast.

I used to use the alberto knot but now all I use is the FG knot. Took some practice and some patience but once you get the hang of its no problem. Theres a group called Salt Strong that has a pretty good instructional video on how to tie it thats how I learned it my self.

Great knot to use and never had it slip. The trick is to get the wraps laying side to side. Use multiple half hitches and tightening each half hitch making sure they are pulled tight. I usually do four half hitches before grabbing the main line and leader making sure to pull as hard as I can. This is important because you are digging the braid into the mono plus pulling the wraps together. Snip the mono tag end as close as possible and then do another four half hitches to cover the tip of the cut mono. One more good strong pull and you are good to go.
