I'm having a blast catching kingfish in the surf during the day. They are taking bloodworms and an occasional small piece of cut spot. The last one I caught today was just .15 #'s short of a citation. How a 13" king can weigh under a pound is beyond me.

I fished last week at middlesex beach, just south of sea colony.
We caught numerous kings, undersized seatrout and a few sharks. Caught our best fish on the ebb tide, using cut squid on kingfish rigs from b&r bait and tackle. They had no bloodworms when I checked...just the nuclear worms. I took four fish in the 12-13" range; several others just under that. Fishing was not good on Wednesday and Thursday due to a very rough surf.
I am already looking forward to the next trip!
