I've used stainless steel and lead ones. I can't ever get the steel anchors to hold. They'll hold for a while but then will pull lose every time i've tried using 'em. Maybe they're not laying right? Dunno but any suggestions would be helpfull or else I have a bunch of steel anchors to get rid of

I assume that you are talking about boat anchors? Try using a heavier gauge chain at least 5FT in lenght. I myself use a aluminum anchor with a heavy chain. It works like a charm.

nope, their for king fishing from a pier to run a trolly rig. (two rod setup) fighting rod and the anchor rod.

Try bending the line tie way to one side if its got the long twist type if you know what im talking about. Thats what ive had to do sometimes to get it to work.

How much weight are you using on your anchor rod? Used to use an 8oz. storm or hurricane weight, it held bottom good. The weights are half pyrimid and round at the bottom.
