Went out for a bit this morning

Waters a warm 70 degrees, winds in your face about 10mph , flat Beach with lots of 1 foot chop. Fairly strong current running left to right.

No fleas around, so threw out some shrimp. Also had out some blood worm fast melt fish bites

Nothing was hungry.

Saw a few small blues and Spanish in the surf yesterday afternoon...by few I mean like 3. There was a small school of bait around and nothing seemed to be chasing it. Threw some metal at it anyway but no luck.

The osprey are flying back and forth and can't seem to find anything either.

Be back out later.

Managed some Spanish and bluefish from avalon today. Water was clear and about 72 degrees

Big blues instead of spanish today...couple smallish cobia around avalon, 1 came over the rail and was released.

Bite shut down about dark.

at 3.5 mile post caught enough sea mullet to feed family of 4 on sand fleas, some were really nice size, nothing citation but really nice size

Nice. No fleas at all around here. I've seen a few spanish in the surf, but other than that everything has been from the pier . I think I may hit nags head or outer banks in the morning. Haven't fished them since I was a kid.

Is the end of the pier still closed? We thought about a long weekend of fishing but are not going back if the end is still closed. Thanks for the update.

Yea the t is roped off, and there is a section about 3/4 way out on the left that is opened up....they have 2 more pilings to put in

Nags head pier since about 7 this morning. Spadefish out the wazoo ... lots of small ones but got a bunch around 10 inches or so. Nice and thick.

Catching mostly on fresh shrimp with a small piece of blood worm fishbites ....have caught a few on squid. And plain shrimp but the combo seems to be hot.

Assorted rays swimming around but they have been kind and left my bait alone.

yesterday with the wind change different story on sea mullet, couldn't feed myself, caught 3 all day. today totally skunked so far but i fished outgoing to dead low tide, the worst time to fish. Tons of sandfleas tho, mostly females too so hoping incoming gets better wich I know it will. Dialout the fleas are closer to the trough even at higher tide you have to go lower to get a good supply and move around because they feel you there. you may know know all this, just trying to be helpful.
