I just spent a week in Melbourne Beach at the Outdoor Resorts. It was my first surf fishing experience..I loved it (even though I only caught a small whiting) I fishing on the resort beach and also traveled down to the Sabastian pier and did some combat fishing. My parents are still down there and I plan on going down again next year. I do need to invest in a surf rod though. Are the combos at Wal-Mart any good?

Did you happen to see a Veterianary Hospital at the enterance to Outdoor Resorts that's were I work. Well as far as combo's from Wall Mart buy a 10 or 12 ft Surf rod there at one of their rack's Surf Master is the brand name $48.00. to $60.00. Behind the counter they have the Penn Reel's 704 Z Spinfisher for about $70 to $80. It will last alot longer then the made up combo's if that's what you want and clean it after use. One of those cheap combo's dropped in the sand does them in. Your Parents can pick this up at the Wal Mart on A1A North In Indian Harbor Beach. You may know where it is.
Then when your done with it you can drop it off at the hospital and I will look after It for you and have It ready for your next trip down.
